Interior design services and process
Four ways to work with us, one way of working. Every stage has a fixed fee agreed in writing before it begins.
Choose how much you want us to do
| Service | What it covers | From |
|---|---|---|
| Design consultation | Two hours in your home. We walk the rooms with you, talk through layout, colour, lighting and budget, and send a written summary of priorities and next steps within three business days. | $350 |
| Single room design | A living room, kitchen or bedroom: measured drawings, layout options, lighting plan, materials board with real samples, and a furniture and finishes schedule. | $2,800 |
| Whole-home interiors | Several rooms or a renovation, from concept through documentation, ordering, trade coordination on site and installation. Quoted as a fixed fee after the consultation. | Quoted |
| Furnishing and styling | For a new build, a move or a sale: furniture, lighting, rugs, art and soft furnishings sourced, delivered and placed in a day. | $1,500 |
Sample fees for this demo. Furniture, materials and trades are paid separately. Where suppliers give us trade prices, those prices are passed on to you and shown on the schedule.
Six steps, start to finish
- 1
Consultation
We visit, listen and look. You get a written summary and, if you want to go further, a fee proposal for the next stages.
- 2
Brief and measure
A full measure of the rooms, photographs of existing services, and a written brief we both sign off: how you live, what stays, what goes and the budget range.
- 3
Concept
Layouts, a lighting idea and a materials board you can hold. We meet in your home to go through it, then refine it once.
- 4
Documentation
Plans, elevations, joinery details, lighting and power plans, and a schedule of every finish and fixture, ready for builders and trades to quote.
- 5
Ordering and site
We order furniture and finishes, track lead times, answer trades' questions and visit site at key stages so details come out as drawn.
- 6
Installation and handover
Furniture placed, art hung, curtains dressed. You get a care guide for every material and the supplier list for future repairs or matching pieces.
Timings are typical for one or two rooms. Lead times for custom furniture and joinery can extend the ordering stage.
Common questions
Do you work with my builder?
Yes. Our drawings are made for builders and trades to price and build from. If you do not have a builder yet, we can introduce registered builders and cabinetmakers we have worked with in Melbourne.
Do you take commission on furniture?
No. Our fees are fixed for each stage. Where suppliers give us trade prices, they are passed on to you and shown line by line on the schedule.
Can I buy some pieces myself?
Of course. Many clients keep favourite furniture or buy some items themselves. We include them in the drawings so sizes and finishes work with the rest of the room.
Do you work outside Melbourne?
Our work is in greater Melbourne, where we can visit site regularly. For holiday homes elsewhere in Victoria, ask us about a design-only service with fewer site visits.
